Isaac Asimov

Science fiction writers and scientists often seem to compete against each other in a kind of race for originality and imagination. In fact, what one seems to imagine can soon become real,  but the process can also go the other way round, i.e. science can also inspire science fiction.

As we see there  is a tiny, thin line between these two fields. One of the men whose mind and skills could easily move from one field to the other with equal success was Isaac Asimov.

Watch and listen to this brief biography that was used as the introduction to a video series launched by him, two years prior to his death.

Among his enumerable writings, he also published ‘Starlight’, which you read.

Here you can find some material to deepen your study: the story, a worksheet and its key.

Still some doubts ?  Why not try a version of the story in pictures? Here you have some help! Just write the captions.

One more possibility: You can  watch  a video based on the story and created by a class from a Portuguese school. Beware of mistakes though!!
